A delegation from the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) led by Mr. Elvis Tsaguim, CNSC’s Director of Operations and Projects, has been in Garoua since 29 August 2022.
The purpose of this mission is to raise awareness among shippers and other foreign trade actors in Cameroon on the missions of the CNSC and the importance of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) in cross-border trade between Cameroon and its neighbours. A good example is Nigeria, one of Cameroon's major trading partners. Discussions are being held with the authorities present at these land crossing points for goods.
Another objective of this mission is to inform stakeholders in cross-border trade of the eventual launch of the ECTN in the other cargo crossing points identified in the Northern Region. As a reminder, the ECTN has been launched in the localities of Bascheo and Demsa in the Northern Region since 1 August 2022.
