CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

On 8 July 2025, the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, convened a consultation meeting with stakeholders of the port sector in Kribi. This was in response to numerous complaints received from the Kribi Freight Forwarders and Shippers Association (ATCK).

The meeting was attended by the Chief of the South II Customs Sector, Mr. Norbert Belinga; the Managing Director of Kribi Container Terminal (KCT), Mr. David Azra; members of ATCK led by their president, Mrs. Christelle Tsam; and representatives of various administrations at the port of Kribi.

This consultation meeting aimed to identify all the problems reported by shippers and freight forwarders using the Kribi port, with a view to finding practical solutions. Some of the issues reported included the lack of internet connection for the port information system (SIP), the absence of shipping line services in the city, failure to comply with demurrage-free times, and congestion at offloading terminals.

At the end of the discussions, it was agreed that efforts should be mutualised between administrative units and shippers to ensure the smooth running of operations at the port of Kribi. CNSC's General Manager, Mr. August Mbappe Penda, was greatly commended for this initiative that seeks to promote Cameroon’s international maritime trade, one of CNSC’s key missions.
