The second phase of the training sessions organised in the district of Pouma to reinforce the production and processing capacities of female entrepreneurs of the cassava sector within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) continued today 29 October 2024, under the supervision of Mrs. Claire Onana Takouchop, Director for Shippers’ Assistance at the Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC).
Coming out in their numbers, the highly motivated participants were coached by experts from various institutions, including Mrs. Patricia Ze from the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts (MINPMEESA), Mrs. Julie Mballa from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Mr. Andre Koung from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), to name but a few. The training modules covered aspects relating to the structuring of cooperative associations, the management of a cassava processing unit, the management of female-led businesses, personal development and women's leadership.
Day 2 of the workshop was marked by practical sessions as female cassava farmers in Pouma practised drawing up a business plan and transforming cassava into other commodities that can be exported to other countries within the AfCFTA.
