The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC) organised a capacity-building workshop for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), complementing an initiative by Women Up Africa and A&M Foundation.
The event took place from 23 to 24 July 2025 in the training hall at the CNSC head office building in Douala.
The workshop, which aimed to address obstacles to the competitiveness of Cameroonian SMEs, focused on aspects such as marketing, e-commerce and branding, with an emphasis on export logistics and product traceability.
Among the key speakers was Mr. Sone Makoge, Service Head for Import Assistance at the CNSC, who delivered a presentation on preliminary logistics and documentary requirements for export. His presentation featured practical examples that highlighted challenges faced by enterprises and concrete solutions to overcome them.
Other experts, from administrative bodies such as the Ministry of Trade, the Standards and Quality Agency (ANOR) and GS1 Cameroon, also contributed to the enriching discussions. They addressed topics such as certification, label compliance, and traceability of products via bar codes and QR codes, tools that have become indispensable in modern trade.
Participants left the workshop better equipped to meet the demands of the local and international markets, having learned how to upgrade their products through brand development strategies and logistics optimisation.
