Vehicle importers have until 31 December 2021 to comply with clearance formalities.
The press release of the Director General of Customs, signed on 18 November 2021, is a final warning to importers who have but a few weeks to clear their vehicles from the port at the standard cost. All payments must be done through the competent customs services against a payment receipt. Failing this, they shall have to pay penalties.
Moreover, persons seeking to purchase vehicles or any other rolling stock on the local market are advised to use the www.portran.cm platform to ensure that the chassis number of the rolling stock is listed in the "COSMOS" application database.
Defaulters shall, as of 1 January 2022, suffer the consequences provided for by the law.
