On Friday, 14 October 2022, the General Manager of the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC), Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda was in Ngoulentang to preside over the commissioning of the CNSC trucker facility in that locality. The event saw the massive attendance of the local population and administrative authorities.
This third trucker facility is part of a vast program launched by the CNSC for the construction of infrastructure to facilitate trade along the Cameroonian corridors. The prime beneficiaries, truckers plying the Douala/Kribi - Bangui/N'Djamena corridor, had the opportunity to discover the various facilities put at their disposal by the CNSC at this logistics base. This includes a large parking lot, rooms, an eatery and a mosque. Actors of cross-border trade present welcomed this initiative of the CNSC as it aims to facilitate trade and promote Cameroon's foreign trade. On that Friday, the mosque, an equally important amenity for this logistic base at Ngoulentang, hosted its first truckers and Muslim faithful for their prayers.
In his keynote address, CNSC's General Manager urged the population to make the most of this facility to fight against unemployment. This opening ceremony was only intended to make the Center operational and its official inauguration will take place at a later date in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Transport, CNSC's supervisory authority.
