CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

At the invitation of the Minister of Trade, Mr. Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) played a key role in the capacity-building seminar organised for entrepreneurs, beneficiaries of PRODEL funding. The seminar, which took place on 31 May 2023, focused on Cameroon’s foreign trade, the challenges of the import-substitution policy and marketing techniques.

Hosted by the Yaounde regional office of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMA), the capacity-building seminar was co-organised by the National Trade Facilitation Committee (CONAFE) with funding from the World Bank.

CNSC's expert at the training session, Mr. Nolga Fernand Douglas, currently serving as CNSC Regional Branch Manager for the Centre Region, delivered a detailed presentation on CNSC's role in the facilitation of import cargo transport to Cameroon.

The aim of the presentation was to provide participants with information on the various procedures of international maritime transport for imported goods, and to highlight the CNSC's contribution in facilitating these procedures in Cameroon. The seminar also featured presentations by experts from MINCOMMERCE, MINEPIA, DGD, GUCE and ANOR, among others.

It is noteworthy that the Livestock Development Project (PRODEL) seeks to improve the productivity of selected production systems, market their products to targeted beneficiaries and provide a rapid and effective response in the event of a crisis or emergency in the livestock sector.
