SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Douala Maritime Museum, AfricAvenir International Foundation hand in glove.

Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC General Manager, owner of the Douala Maritime Museum and Prince Kum’a Ndumbe III CEO of the AfricAvenir International Foundation penned a protocol agreement on 10 December 2019 in Bonaberi, Douala.

The purpose of the event was to concretise and deepen collaboration between two cultural institutions whose common goal is to foster memorable activities for the constitution and the promotion of the collective memory of Cameroon and well beyond.

It was an historic day for Prince Kum'a Ndumbe III, Patriarch of coastal people, man of culture and Teacher-Researcher who solemnly expressed his happiness for seeing his commitment to the restitution of the African renaissance recognised by the Douala Maritime Museum.

Taking the floor, the CNSC General Manager lauded the efforts of AfricAvenir International Foundation that has been working for decades to raise awareness about cultural riches, the vestiges of which are well kept in European Museums, far away from their origins, which desperately need them today to help rebuild their collective memory.

Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda made it clear that the signing of the framework agreement is only the first phase of the process. Indeed, after the signing of the French version of the document at the premises of AfricAvenir International Foundation, the English version of the Convention will be signed at the Douala Maritime Museum.
