CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the Douala-Bonabéri Port also featured a conference organised by the Port Authority of Douala.

The Cameroon National Shippers' Council of Cameroon (CNCC) was a key participant at the conference symposium organised on 3 October 2025 in Douala, joining the panel of decision-makers that included APN, PAD, PAK, DGD, GUCE and SGS.

Mr. Fernand Douglas Nolga, CNSC Director for Trade Facilitation and Transports Observatory, delivered a presentation on behalf of the General Manager Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, unable to attend. His presentation was focused on ‘The geostrategic and dynamic importance of the Douala-Bonaberi Port for Cameroon and the sub-region’.

He presented the Douala-Bonaberi port as the economic powerhouse of Cameroon and its main gateway by sea, as it receives approximately 80% of the country's import-export traffic, making it a key infrastructure for promoting foreign trade.

Mr. Fernand Douglas Nolga further described the Douala-Bonaberi port as an instrument of regional integration for landlocked countries and an alternative corridor for other neighbouring countries with a coastline, such as Congo, Gabon and Nigeria.

This port’s attractiveness and competitiveness are also enhanced by the various services the CNSC offers to shippers, including personalised support and monitoring, proposals for trade facilitation solutions, the development of trucker accommodation centres along road transit corridors and the construction of cargo warehouses in the port and near-port areas in Douala to help decongest the Douala-Bonabéri Port, thereby improving cargo dwell times.
