AfDB identifies 230 projects
With the support of its partners, the African Development Bank (AfDB) envisages to invest some 208 billion dollars, the equivalent of about 136,439 billion CFA F, in several projects that will ease the implementation of the African continental free trade area (AfCFTA). To this end, ADB and its partners have evaluated 230 projects estimated to cost 136,439 billion CFA F. The institution hopes to complete funding at the upcoming edition of the Africa Investment Forum to hold at the end of this year in Johannesburg, South Africa, after is was postponed in 2020. According to the ADB President, Akinwumi Adesina, the continent suffered a cumulative loss of its GDP estimated between 145 (95,133 billion) and 190 billion dollars (124 631 billion F), due to covid-19.
