CAMEROON NATIONAL
SHIPPERS' COUNCIL

Open dialogue between CNSC and AMPE

Parties satisfied after evaluating partnership performance

The Strategic Monitoring Committee of the Partnership agreement between the Cameroon National Shippers' Council (CNSC) and the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Promotion Agency (APME) held its maiden meeting on 4 March 2021 at the CNSC headquarters. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Auguste Mbappe Penda, CNSC General Manager and Jean Marie Louis Badga, APME General Manager.

After the first evaluation meeting, both general managers appreciated the outcome of the joint actions carried out since the partnership agreement was inked on 24 September 2020. Many Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises have received assistance throughout the transport logistics chain. An examination of the difficulties encountered by these SMEs revealed that they do not master foreign trade procedures and this situation impacts negatively on their activities.

In 2021, emphasis will be on communication, assistance and professionalisation of Cameroonian shippers and SMEs. Training sessions on "anticipating foreign trade procedures" will be organised for SMEs admitted or in the process of being admitted to the private investment incentive regime.  Among other things, both institutions will focus on helping small shippers to monitor their import and export procedures.
